There are times when you become so depressed and you tend to stay in bed day after day.
You soon become accustomed to staying in your bed for most of the day.
Before long you find yourself so tired all the time.
You just lounge around in sleep wear and don’t even bother getting ready or dressed for the day.
Before you realize it days become weeks and weeks become months and this is your new normal.
Then one day, you feel so lost and can’t figure out how you even got to this point and why you are so tired all day everyday, even tho you spend most of your time asleep.
This was me.
For months I was like that. Tired all the time and hardly leaving my bed.
Then one random day, a thought crossed my mind. Perhaps I am tired and sleeping all day because I am always wearing pajamas and never getting dressed because I was only leaving my house once a week to go shopping and that was the only time I wore jeans, socks, and shoes. That was the only time I was out of my bed.
It dawned on me. The next morning, I got up out of my bed and put jeans on. I put socks and shoes on. Just by doing that I felt ready to face the day, do some cleaning, which at this point was very well needed, and I had more energy than I had in months…. And all I did was change out of my pajamas and get out of my bed. I didn’t even have to take a single nap that day.
It’s been two weeks since that day that I got out of my bed. And since then, I have spring cleaned every room in my home, lost weight, never take mid day naps anymore, and feel like I can do more.
So my biggest advice on motivation is get up, get dressed in street clothes, and be ready to tackle anything the day brings, and goals to set, and any tasks that need doing.
My next item of advice for motivation is listen to music. The right type of music can hype you up and get you excited. This makes boring, daunting tasks or chores seems easier to do.
The final piece of advice I have for you today is watch other people doing what you want to do but can’t seem to find motivation to do.
For example, let’s say you want to clean your house. Really deep clean each room. A good idea would be to watch videos of other people spring cleaning their homes or cleaning big messes and hoarders homes. Sometimes these homes take a lot of work, but in the end, the result is well worth it. Also, sometimes your house will seem clean and less daunting as some of those videos. And even if it is just as daunting, watching someone else do it can motivate you and inspire you to accomplish your goal.
I hope these ideas help motivate you.
